2013 Skoda Yeti: Skoda has been selling the Yeti in India for a couple of years now. The Yeti has been a tepid seller for the brand despite being a very capable vehicle. There are two main reasons for this. One: The Yeti is priced higher than most of the 7 seater SUVs and thus doesn’t appear value-for-money to the prospective buyer. Two: The car like footprint of the Yeti and the lack of muscularity means that folks who want an SUV steer clear of the Yeti, due to the smaller presence this crossover has. These two factors have been party poopers for what is otherwise an excellent product.

Skoda India has tried to push the Yeti by lining up a cut price 4X2 variant but after the initial splash, the cut price model has done little to put the zing back into Yeti sales. The Yeti sold in India is available in both 4X2 and 4X4 versions. The crossover comes with single 2 Liter TDI turbo diesel engine available in two states of tune, a 110 Bhp-250 Nm version and a 140 Bhp-320 Nm version. While the lower spec engine comes with 5 speed gearbox and front wheel guise, the more powerful variant gets a 6 speed stick shifter mated to a four wheel drive system.

2012 Volkswagen Scirocco GTS: One such German automaker taking advantage of the show is Volkswagen with this very cool Scirocco GTS. This special edition is based on the 2.0 TSI 210 HP version and adds some pretty impressive features. The Scirocco GTS features a very cool white exterior paint finish combined with black-and red "go faster" strips, red exterior mirrors, a new set of 18-inch "Thunder" wheels, and a new rear spoiler and diffuser similar to the ones seen on the Scirocco R. 

Volkswagen is now continuing this tradition with the debut of the new GTS, delivering up to 155 kW / 210 hp. Catching the eye immediately are the coloured stripes on the bonnet, the roof complete with rear spoiler and the tailgate, designed in the style of racing cars of the 70s and 80s. Red brake calipers, custom-designed front and rear bumpers, exposed side sills, body-coloured side trim, wing mirrors colour coordinated with the stripes, burnished 18-inch ‘Thunder’ alloy wheels with black trim, a sporty diffuser and GTS badges on the front wings finish off the sporty exterior to perfection.

2012 Skoda Yeti:  crossover now has been available in a compact SUV model. The new vehicle is now on sale in Australian market, following the Skoda Fabia which was just recently launched. The new Yeti is offered in two specifications of the front-wheel-drive with 77TSI petrol model and the 4×4 03TDI diesel and is available with either a six-speed manual or VW’ vaunted DSG automatic transmissions. The 2WD version of the 2012 Skoda Yeti is equipped with VW’s 1.2-liter TSI petrol engine that is able to deliver 77kW and 175Nm of torque between 1550-4100rpm, a towing capacity of 1200kg. 

The engine lists combined-cycle fuel economy of 6.6L/00km in the manual and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 11.8 seconds. On the other hand, the automatic transmission-equipped engine achieves 7.0L/100km of fuel efficiency and speeds from 0-100km/h in just 12.0 seconds. On the opposite, the 4×4 version is powered by Skoda’s 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine that produces 103kW and 320Nm of torque from 750-2500rpm.
