2014 Subaru Forester: The 2014 Forester will get an updated suspension system. The new crossover's reported 8.7-inch ground clearance is the same as that on the base model of the current Forester. In addition to the new styling and suspension, the 2014 Forest adds an engine option: a 2.0-liter turbocharged horizontally opposed four-cylinder producing 250 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
This new 2.0-liter turbo is particularly interesting in light of rumors reported on last week that hinted at a turbocharged Subaru BRZ. We have contacted Subaru to ask if there is any connection, but we haven't heard back from them yet. A naturally aspirated 2.5-liter Boxer good for 170 hp, which debuted on the previous Forester, is also available. Buyers of vehicles equipped with the 2.5-liter engine will choose either a six-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission.
